There’s an outward move in the churches to bring life to their own communities. In Moe and in Morwell, Vickie and Michael visited two churches that are also functioning as  community centres with hot soup accompanied by hot hearts. And this weekend in Hallam, St Mina and St Marina Coptic Youth Group birthed their community project ‘manna4life’.  This will provide  hot meals on wheels in the Dandenong area for those in need. And there are a lot in need in this area with Afghan and Iranian refugees. The official launch on Sunday 2 June 2013 was attended by Bishop Suriel, Anthony Byrne MP, City of Casey Mayor Cr Amanda Stapledon, Deputy Mayor Cr Sam Aziz and others noting the desire of the Coptic Youth to ‘serve Christ through serving others’. Pictured below in the AC gold cap is AC Victorian State Councillor Sami Greiss, also a member of the Hallam congregation and below, Bishop Suriel being interviewed at the launch.
